Patient Forms
When you arrive, we'll have some basic paper-work for you. It will give the doctor general information about yourself and your condition.
Consultation
Next you will have a consultation with the doctor to discuss your health related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options. Your first visit is designed for our staff to learn more about you, your condition and your expectations to determine whether chiropractic care meet your goals.
Examination
After your consultation, the doctor will perform a complete chiropractic examination testing your reflexes, your ability to turn and bend as well as other standard neurological, orthopedic, postural, and physical examinations. Nothing will be done in our office without your consent.
X-Ray Studies
Your specific condition may require us to take x-rays to better understand what is going on. X-rays help show exactly where the problem is and how best to correct it. Most people are amazed once they see their x-rays and can generally see for themselves problem areas.
Report of Findings
Once all the information and examinations have been performed, we will give go over everything including...
- Can you help me?
- What do you recommend that I do to get better?
- How much is it going to cost?
We will review your past history, exam findings, X-rays and any other tests performed. If chiropractic care is appropriate for you, we will recommend a course of action based on what we know, our experience and you own health goals. If you have a condition that requires care with other providers, we will make the appropriate referral.
Treatment
Patients will generally be provided with pain relief therapy before you leave that day. Your individualized treatment program typically begins on the second appointment after your information has been evaluated. This may include specific chiropractic adjustments, various physical therapies, and/or soft tissue work. Remember, this is all about YOU so please express any concerns you have as there are many ways to reach the desired result.
Wellness Program
Prior to leaving, patients will be instructed on a wellness program to be conducted at home. If you are in pain when you first come into our office, we will generally offer recommendations including instructions for ice or heat, things to avoid, as well as easy home exercises and/or stretches. If you need suggestions on an overall wellness lifestyle, our wellness team will work with you to create good habits and routines that support your success.
Every body is unique so everyone requires a customized wellness plan. The foundation of our overall wellness lifestyle is maintaining healthy posture and good spinal alignment, eating a healthy diet, taking appropriate supplements, keeping your weight under control and stress relief.
